1. Introduction
2. Literature review

4. Recommendations
5. Conclusion
• Tekstedia is a Cameroon-based tech company. It was founded in the year 2019 with the
motive to increase industrial, commercial and personal standards through technology.
Tekstedia is a registered company with license number TTPRR-RC LPP-2020/B.

• My one-month internship was quite beneficial to me. TEKSTEDIA has provided me with
numerous opportunities to study and explore new ideas. TEKSTEDIA is one of
Cameroon's leading TECH organizations, capable of creating websites for a variety of
businesses and corporations. I obtained a great deal of expertise in web development,
which entails the creation of a website. During my practice sessions, I worked on a few
tasks and activities that were very similar to what I studied in school.
Literature review
Web designers often think about the web design process with a focus on technical matters such as
wireframes, code, and content management. But great design isn’t about how you integrate the
social media buttons or even slick visuals. Great design is actually about having a website creation
process that aligns with an overarching strategy.
Well designed websites offer much more than just aesthetics. They attract visitors and help
people understand the product, company, and branding through a variety of indicators,
encompassing visuals, text, and interactions. That means every element of the site needs to work
towards a defined goal.
To design, build, and launch your website, it's important to follow these steps:

Goal identification: The initial stage is all about understanding how you can help your

client. In this initial stage, the designer needs to identify the end goal of the website

design, usually in close collaboration with the client or other stakeholders

Questions to explore and answer in this stage of the design and website development process include:

 Who is the site for?

 What do they expect to find or do there?

 Is this website’s primary aim to inform, to sell (e-commerce, anyone?), or to amuse?

 Does the website need to convey a brand’s core message or is it part of a wider branding strategy with its unique focus?

 What competitor sites, if any, exist, and how should this site be inspired by/different than, those competitors?

This is the most important part of any web development process. If these questions aren’t all answered in the brief, the whole

project can set off in the wrong direction .

Steps to designing a website
 Goal identification: Where I work with the client to determine what goals the new website needs to fulfill. I.e., what its purpose is.

 Scope definition: Once we know the site's goals, we can define the scope of the project. I.e., what web pages and features the site

requires to fulfill the goal, and the timeline for building those out.

 Sitemap and wireframe creation: With the scope well-defined, we can start digging into the sitemap, defining how the content and

features we defined in the scope definition will interrelate.

 Content creation: Now that we have a bigger picture of the site in mind, we can start creating content for the individual pages,

always keeping search engine optimization (SEO) in mind to help keep pages focused on a single topic. You must have real content to

work with for our next stage:

 Visual elements: With the site architecture and some content in place, we can start working on the visual

brand. Depending on the client, this may already be well-defined, but you might also be defining the

visual style from the ground up. Tools like style tiles, mood boards, and element collages can help with

this process.

 Testing: By now, you've got all your pages and defined how they display to the site visitor, so it's time to

make sure it all works. Combine manual browsing of the site on a variety of devices with automated site

crawlers to identify everything from user experience issues to simple broken links.
 Launch: Once everything's working beautifully, it's time to plan and execute your site
launch! This should include planning both launch timing and communication strategies — i.e.,
when will you launch and how will you let the world know? After that, it's time to break out
the bubbly.
Internship Activities
This is a list of the activities that the intern did during his internship. These activities are represented below.

1. Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

During the first week of the internship, the intern was asked to do research and learn about SDLC.

• Software Development Life Cycle is the application of standard business practices to building software
applications. It’s typically divided into six to eight steps: Planning, Requirements, Design, Build,
Document, Test, Deploy, Maintain. Some project managers will combine, split, or omit steps, depending on
the project’s scope. These are the core components recommended for all software development projects.
SDLC is a way to measure and improve the development process. It allows a fine-grain analysis of each step of
the process. This, in turn, helps companies maximize efficiency at each stage. As computing power increases, it
places a higher demand on software and developers. Companies must reduce costs, deliver software faster, and
meet or exceed their customers’ needs. SDLC helps achieve these goals by identifying inefficiencies and higher
costs and fixing them to run smoothly.
How the Software Development Life Cycle Works
The Software Development Life Cycle simply outlines each task required to put together a software application.

This helps to reduce waste and increase the efficiency of the development process. Monitoring also ensures the

project stays on track and continues to be a feasible investment for the company.
Planning

In the Planning phase, project leaders evaluate the terms of the project. This includes calculating labor and

material costs, creating a timetable with target goals, and creating the project’s teams and leadership structure.

Define Requirements

Defining requirements is considered part of planning to determine what the application is supposed to do and its

requirements. For example, a social media application would require the ability to connect with a friend. An

inventory program might require a search feature.

Design and Prototyping
The Design phase models the way a software application will work. Some aspects of design might include
Architecture, User interface and Platforms.
Prototyping can be a part of the Design phase. A prototype is like one of the early versions of software in the
Iterative software development model.

This is the actual writing of the program

Testing
It’s critical to test an application before making it available to users.

Deployment
Operations and Maintenance
At this point, the development cycle is almost finished. The application is done and
being used in the field. The Operation and Maintenance phase is still important,
though. In this phase, users discover bugs that weren’t found during testing
Activities associated with Web Development

a. Mastering the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML)

b. Learning to use Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
c. Using Photoshop to Create a Professional Portfolio
d. Making a landing page from scratch.
Intern Challenges
 Difficulty learning how to use some applications like Adobe Dream Weaver and Adobe XD

 Inability to sometimes meet with the internship supervisor for queries because he was always busy with

office work
Company Challenges
 Tekstedia is a small company, its infrastructure is not large so they cannot accommodate an average

number of interns (10) at once,

 To employ and contain a particular number of personnel, Tekstedia must expand its infrastructure.

 Tekstedia's network system (internet) is unreliable, causing staff to be delayed in completing duties.

 Slow completion of Wi-Fi dependent task in general due to very slow Wi-Fi.
Recommendation

 I believe that Tekstedia, as an IT corporation with the majority, if not all, of what it takes to train students,

should consider training more students so that they can be what the world needs when they graduate.

 I believe that Tekstedia should improve its infrastructure to improve its research.

 I urge that Tekstedia expand the building infrastructure to accommodate so many computers and interns and

that INTERNS always bring their belongings, such as laptops, to make studying easier.

 I recommend Tekstedia gets a better Wi-Fi connection for faster work completion
Conclusion
In a nutshell, this internship has been a great learning opportunity. I can safely conclude that my
time at Tekstedia taught me a great deal. Needless to say, the technical components of the work
I've done aren't perfect and, given enough time, may be improved. As someone who had no prior
experience with Adobe Dream weaver, Adobe XD, a bit of HTML and CSS, I believe the time I
spent researching and learning it was well worth it, and that it helped me find an acceptable
solution for building a fully functional web service. Time management and self-motivation are two
of the most important things I've learned.
