• WHAT IS PHYSICAL
EDUCATION?
AN INTEGRAL PART OF EDUCATIONAL
PROGRAM, DESIGN TO PROMOTE THE
INDIVIDUAL PHYSICALLY , MENTALLY ,
SPIRITUALLY , AND SOCIALLY THROUGH
THE TOTAL BODY MOVEMENT.

- Instruction in the development and


care of the body ranging from simple
calisthenics exercises to a course of
study providing training hygiene,
gymnastics, and the performance
and management of athletic games.

Physical Education – is a process of
learning the context being mainly
physical . The purpose of this
process is to develop specific
knowledge, skills, and understanding
and to promote physical
competence.

1. ENDURANCE – Ability of the muscle to resist


fatigue when performing multiple repetition of a
submaximal load.
2. STRENGTH – Ability of the muscle to generate the
greatest force.
3. FLEXIBILITY – Ability to move joint without pain.
4. POWER - Ability to exert a maximal force in a
short period of time
5. SPEED - Ability to move quickly across the
ground.
6. ORGANIC- VIGOR – Refers to the soundness of the
heart and lungs. Ability to sustain long continued
contractions where a number of muscle group are
used.
7. BALANCE – Ability to control your body position

Physical fitness can be a key component of a
healthy lifestyle. This is why P.E. is a key subject in
all the leading universities in the world. Regular
physical activity can help to improve the
absorption of nutrients in the body it also helps to
improve cardiovascular health and develop
muscular strength.
EXERCISE – Activity requiring physical effort
carried out to sustain or improve body movement.
WARM –UP – Activity done before starting
working hour .

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY – Involves bodily movement


caused by muscular contractions that result the
expenditure of energy.

our PE class?

EXERCISE- is a planned program
of physical activities usually
designed to improve physical
fitness.
WHAT IS PHYSICAL
ACTIVITY ?
Physical activity as any bodily movement
produced by skeletal muscles that requires
energy expenditure.

- It simply means movement of the body


that uses energy . Walking, gardening,
briskly pushing , climbing stairs, playing , or
dancing all are good examples of being
active. For health benefits, physical
activity should moderate or vigorous
intensity.
SUMMARY

Physical Education is a course taught in school


that focuses on developing physical fitness.
Effective P.E. classes help kids develop skill and
confidence , maintain physical fitness, learn
about personal health and wellness, and
demonstrate positive social skills.
