Description: Students create a personal portfolio. They are encouraged to work
creatively and can use this portfolio to assess their own career competencies. This
exercise is a reflective learning task designed to enhance students' understanding of
leadership styles, personality, and their own competencies. The goal is to evaluate
students' ability to understand, apply, and reflect.

Requirements: The portfolio consists of 2 parts:

Part 1: Answers to the survey questions from the chapters. After completing the
survey at the end of each chapter, students write 2 paragraphs reflecting on what they
have learned throughout the process, including:
Reflection (100-150 words): Based on the results of the survey responses, compared
with the theoretical content learned in each chapter, students summarize their
conclusions about their current leadership style, personality, and competencies.
Action (100-150 words): After identifying strengths and weaknesses in their current
leadership style, personality, and competencies, students create a plan to address
weaknesses and leverage strengths for personal growth and development.
Part 2: After completing all course content, students write an essay (approximately
700 words), including:
Reflection: A summary and synthesis of the reflections students have written at the
end of each chapter (300 words).
Career and Personal Mission Statement: What career path the student intends to
pursue in the future, clearly defining their career mission (what the student wants
to achieve and contribute in their career) and personal mission (goals and reasons
for the student to continue existing, living, and working).
Goals: The short-term and long-term goals the student needs to achieve in order
to fulfill the above missions.
Leadership Model: Building a model of the leader the student aspires to become in
order to achieve the goals and complete the missions stated above (including
leadership style, personality, competencies, etc.).
Personal Development Plan: The student’s plan to develop into that leadership
model (what weaknesses need to be addressed, what personality traits need to
change, what skills need to be cultivated, etc.).
Some examples of personal missions:
- Nick Vujicic: “My mission is to help others through my story.”
- American television queen Oprah Winfrey: “To become an educator, an
inspiration for people to understand that they can achieve more than
they think.”
- British billionaire Sir Richard Branson – Founder of the Virgin Group:
“Enjoy every journey in life and learn from failures. In business, being a
leader means bringing out the best in employees by listening, building
trust, respecting them, and allowing them to grow.”

Example of a career mission: My mission is to become a member of the

senior management team of the company by December 31, 2024, by
empowering the team and helping them solve challenging problems
creatively and successfully. In this role, I want to feel valued, and my
salary and benefits will reflect this.
