Vision of the IDEA Lab:

To engage the next generation of idea inventors—


students, faculty, and researchers—by providing a
collaborative space for exploration, experimentation,
and the application of groundbreaking ideas.

Mission of IDEA Lab
To develop creative thinking, problem solving and
entrepreneurial mindset among the students
To foster student entrepreneurship and start-up culture among
the students’ teams
To provide functional networks among the students’ groups,
faculty coordinators, external technology business incubators and
IDEA labs in neighboring colleges and schools
To develop innovation and project-based courses in ACSCE and
thus provide support for sustainable growth of the activities of
IDEA labs
To collaborate with industries and social organizations in
developing relevant solutions

Plan of integration
ACSCE has Intel-IOT laboratory and Bosch automation
laboratory and both of them will be integrated with IDEA lab

ACSCE has already established APJ Innovation Centre for


fostering creating thinking and innovation.

The laboratories of ACSCE in various departments have


advanced facilities that would be integrated with IDEA lab .
IDEA Lab will also be connected to the ACSCE institutional
network and hence the lab will have continuous access to all
the solvers and simulation tools.
Plan for the sustenance
 Seeking of the government funds and seed funds to the student
teams who have translated their ideas into high quality prototypes
under the mentoring of IDEA lab
 Utilization of the facilities by industries at nominal rental charges
and generating funds for taking care of recurring expenditure
 Seeking the CSR support from industries for upgrading of the
equipment
 Applying to project funding agencies
 Allocation of identified percentage of the institutional budget for
annual maintenance of the equipment
 Working with MSME units and industrial partners for developing
technology enabled solutions related to products and processes.
Carrying out contract research and product design services.

 Involving alumni in creating of support mechanisms

 Conducting of skill development programs with certification of


industrial bodies and professional societies and generating of
training revenue for the sustained growth.
