pegawai pemerintah

kolonial dan menindak pegawai yang korupsi dgn hukuman seberat
beratnya
10. Mendirikan badan pengadilan yang disesuaikan dengan adat
istiadat yang berlaku

Terhadap raja-raja di Jawa, Daendels bertindak keras
semangat anti feodalisme dari Revolusi Prancis yang
dikaguminya melatarbelakangi sikap Daendels terhadap
raja- raja Jawa. Contoh kebijakannya yang antifeodalisme
dapat dilihat dari perlakuannya terhadap Kesultanan
Yogyakarta. Kesultanan Surakarta, dan Kesultanan Banten.

Terhadap kebijakan tersebut, Sultan Yogyakarta


Hamengku Buwono I membangkang. Maka dari itu, pada
Desember 1810) Herman W Daendels menyerbu
Yogyakarta, menurunkan Hamengku Buwono II dan
menggantinya dengan Hamengku Buwono III.

Terhadap Kesultanan Banten, Daendels mengasingkan


sultan Banten ke Ambon karena sultan Banten menentang
kebijakannya. Kebijakan tersebut adalah menjual tanah
pemerintah kepada pengusaha swasta asing untuk
