Technical Part
Technical part About the certificate:
This certification is designed to:
• Provide a professional training to banking experts catering to
the financial needs of small and medium enterprises.
Target Audience:
• Train client relationship officers.
• Managers .
• Newly hired staff in Banks’ SME Departments/Units.
Certificate Objectives:
By the end of the certificate, you will be able to:
• Understand the main principles of accounting.
• Understand the SME finance sector in Egypt.
• Understand the breadth and width of financial products that can be
proposed to SMEs.
• Explain How to conduct financial and non-financial assessments of
SMEs, analyze risks, and employ strategies to mitigate them.
Certificate Objectives:
• Understand the principles of financial statements analysis prepare
balance sheets, income statements and cash flow projections, and be
fully capable to analyze them, including with the use of a range of
financial ratios.
• Understand how to analyze cash flow statement.
• Understand the SME facility structure and it’s main components.
• Understand the Loan Portfolio Management & Monitoring and Non-
Performing Loans.

• Create an appropriate credit report to the credit committee, which
include facilities structure and recommendation.
• Justify the essential principles of trade finance.
• Understand and be aware of the legal aspects of credit and credit
facilities.

Certificate Learning Methodology
• The certificate presentation (PPT) designed by Frankfurt School covers
60% of the required knowledge.
• The remaining 40% is included in the Participant Guide (PG) and
requires self-study.
• It is essential to thoroughly study both the Participant Guide (PG) and
the presentation (PPT) to ensure comprehensive knowledge and
prepare for the modular and final exams.
Assessment Strategy
Participants will be assessed based on the following 4 aspects:-
Accountancy Module:
• Participants must achieve 60% in the Accountancy module exam, to
continue attending the certificate.

Post Exams:
• Participants will sit for 4 exams during the certificate, all exams are
conducted at EBI premises.
• Participant must achieve 60% average cut-off score in the Post Exams.
Assessment Strategy
Final desk (Real Case Studies):
• Each participant will be assigned to analyze a real case study.
• A desk taker will discuss participant’s findings and will be graded based
on the participant’s analytical and presentation skills. (Cut off Score 70%).

Final Exam (Frankfurt School Exam).:


• Participants will sit for an exam at the end of Certificate.
• Participant must achieve cut off score of 60% in the final exam to attain a
certificate of completion.
The final grade of the certificate will be calculated on a weighted
average of:
• Final Exam 60%
• Final Desk 25%
• Post Exams 10%
• Participation 5%

In order to receive a certificate, you must pass both the final desk and
final exam (Frankfurt Exam) cut-off score.
Execution Part
EBI Attendance policy:
• You will not be entitled for a certificate, and will not be meeting
completion requirements, in case of:
• Failure to attend a minimum of 90% of the training sessions
• Participants who arrive 30 minutes late after the start of the session - in two
sessions - will be considered absent in one session unless the participant is
granted an approved excuse from the nominating client.
• Participants who leave the session 30 minutes before the end of the session in
two sessions - will be considered absent in one session unless the participant is
granted an
In-Class Training Protocol

• All participants are expected to be on time for each session.


• Mobile phones must be switched off or set to silent mode.
• Attendance in appropriate attire.
• Food and beverages are not permitted inside the training rooms.
• Adherence to scheduled break times.
Completion Rates and Certificate

According to EBI regulations – you will not be entitled to a certificate, and will
not be meeting completion requirements, in case of:
a) Failure to attend a minimum of 90% of the training sessions – please check with your
Training Coordinator to determine the minimum number of sessions required.
b) Failure to sit for the post-program exams or failure to pass the end-of-program exam
c) Failure to pass the final project discussion at the end of the certificate.

End of certificate Exam will be conducted at EBI premises unless different


changes are communicated.

• Material and assignments are not accessible through mobile phone, and it will not be
available after the course end date.
Notes:
• A welcome email was sent from EBI to each participant stating all
rules and schedule, please confirm receiving the email.
• An evaluation will take place at the end of each unit,( Evaluation
from 1 to 5) (1 is the Least and 5 is the highest).
• Retake exams or final desk will be allowed against additional fees.

• All participants are expected to adhere to appropriate conduct, showing respect


during discussions with instructors, fellow participants, and staff members. Any
violation of these standards may be reported by EBI to the bank management.
