INTRODUCTION

• Video refers to the combination of images and audio displayed in rapid


succession to create illusion of motion.
CHARACTERISTICS

• Structure Flow: Follows a clear beginning, middle and end.


• Audio Visual Sync: Harmonizes visuals with audio for impact.
• Accessible: To support captions and subtitles for broader reach.
• Platform Friendly: Adaptable for different plat forms and formats.
• Resolution: Standard Definition (SD), High Definition(HD)
HOW VIDEO WORKS

 Frames; videos consist of sequence of images displayed in rapid succession.


 Frame Rate; The number of rate per seconds(FPS) typically 24, 30, or 60.
 Resolution; the number of pixel that make up the image.
BROADCAST VIDEO STANDARD

Broadcast refers to the distribution of audio visual content to a wide


audience through various communication channel.
Broadcast standard now refers to standardized formats and
specification that ensure video content that can be consistently display across
devices.
Some Broadcast system include (NTSC, PAL, CECAM, ATSC, DTV).
ANALOGUE AND DIGITAL VIDEO
STANDARD
ANALOGUE VIDEO
• Analogue Video refers to the method of recording, storing and displaying
visual information in continuous video format. Its typically uses color
encoding systems like(NTSC, PAL,SECAM)which vary and depending on the
region.
DIGITAL VIDEO

Digital video refers to a method of capturing, storing and displaying visual


information in a digital format using binary code(0s and 1s). Some digital
video standard include(ATSC, ISDB, EDTV)

VIDEO RECORDING
It is the process of capturing a series of moving images and sound to
create a visual record of an event or experience. Some breakdown of the
process are;
 Capturing the image.
 Capturing the sound.
 Processing and recording.

SHOOTING VIDEO
It is the combination of technical skills and artistic visual than can range
from capturing simple home videos to produce high quality films and
documentaries.
 Pre-production(planning and story boarding)

VIDEO EDITING AND CREATION

Video editing refers to the process of transforming raw video


footage in to a finished, consistent and engaging final product. The 2 types of
video editing are Linear and Non linear video editing.
Linear video editing( analogue editing video) is a method where video is
edited in a sequential manner while Non-linear ( digital editing method) allow
for more flexibility.
Some examples of video editing and creation include;
 Open shot.
 Filmora.
 Window movie maker.
VIDEO FORMAT
Video format are file types use to store and playback video content.
some examples are;
 MP4(MPEG 4)
 AVI(audio video interleave).
 MOV(quick time movie).
 WMV(window media video)
 FLV(flash video).
