Example of wiki is Wikipedia

an existing Course or Learning
Management System or be used for
discussion in place of such a system.
Edgren et al., 2009, indicates that
“through a wiki a learning community
can be created among students and
teachers which can be actively
engaged in the learning process”.
The wiki also provides an effective
communication tool among a group of
learners.

complete courses as in the real
world, a very important limiting
feature of an LMS is that the
interactions are only among the
students , peers and the teachers or
facilitators.
On the other hand, Wikis and Social
Networking sites can allow
interactions with a much larger
community.
