– Lightweight Directory Access Protocol.
– The LDAP hierarchy has a tree structure.
– LDAP is a client-server based directory access protocol that provides
both read and update access.

– Open standard by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF)
– OpenLDAP Software is an open source implementation of the
Lightweight Directory Access Protocol
– Allow the management of users and access privileges
