The Bible,
the Word of God
Bible Verse

Your word is like a lamp for my feet

and a light for my path.

Ang salita mo'y ilawan sa aking mga

paa, at liwanag sa aking landas.
- Psalm 119:105
Do you have a bookshelf on your room?
I do. On my bookshelf, I have many
different kinds of books all lined up in a
row, books that I like to read.
One of the books on that shelf is –
Bible.
The Bible is really a whole bookshelf
of books all by itself.
66It has
books inside.

• Ang salitang Bibliya ay nagmula sa salitang
Griyego na "biblia," na nangangahulugang "mga
aklat."
Kabilang dito
ang batas, kasaysayan, karunungan, at tula.
Mga Dakilang Propeta at Maliit na mga
Propeta.
• Ang Bagong Tipan ay naglalaman ng 27 na
aklat at nakasulat sa wikang Griyego. Binubuo
ito ng mga Ebanghelyo, kasaysayan ng
simbahan, mga liham ni apostol Pablo, iba
pang pangkalahatang liham, at propesiya.
The Bible is a long message from
God. It’s called the Holy Scriptures,
or Holy Writings.
All the different things in the 66
books tell us about God and His plans
for us.
More than 40+ Authors
God didn’t write the Bible
with His own hands. Most
of the time, He didn’t
give the writers words to
write – He gave them
thoughts to think.
Sometimes He
helped them
remember what
happened so they
could write the story.

Sometimes He
helped them find just
the right words for a
song or a poem
about Him.
Sometimes He
helped them think
clearly as they
explained His
plans.
Sometimes He
showed them things
that were happening
far away or things
that would happen
someday in the
future.
Then each one
wrote down those
thoughts the best
they could to
explain or tell the
story.
That’s what we
mean when we say
that the Bible is
“inspired” by God.
I believe the Bible
gives us the truth
about God. It tells
us who God is and
how He wants to
save us. It tells us
how God wants us
to live.
“Ang lahat ng mga kasulatan na
kinasihan ng Dios ay mapapakinabangan
din naman sa pagtuturo, sa pagsansala,
sa pagsaway, sa ikatututo na nasa
katuwiran” (2 Timothy 3:16).
The Bible isn’t an
encyclopedia. It doesn’t
tell us everything about
science or history. It tells
us about God and about
His plans for all people.
The Bible is the Word of God because
it is how God speaks to us today.
Summary

The Bible is God’s

book. It is His
message to us. In
the Bible, we can
hear God’s voice
speaking to us.
LOVE LETTER NG
PANGINOON
Bible Text
“Lahat ng Kasulatan ay isinulat sa
pamamagitan ng kapangyarihan ng
Dios, at mapapakinabangan sa
pagtuturo ng katotohanan,
pagsasaway, pagtutuwid, at sa
pagsasanay sa matuwid na
pamumuhay, para maging handa sa
lahat ng mabubuting gawa ang
naglilingkod sa Dios.
” (2
(2 Timothy
Timothy 3:16,17).
3:16,17).
Do you love getting
letters from someone
you love? Are you
excited when you get a
letter from your grandpa,
grandma, or a good
friend? Do you enjoy
reading every word
carefully?
I got a letter from my grandfather
today. He told me that he almost
slipped and fell in the snow, that
the birds at his feeder are eating up
the seeds real fast, and that
Grandmother caught a cold last
week but is doing much better
although she still sniffles.
Then he gave me some good
advice about a kid at school
who enjoys making my life
miserable. I really needed
new ideas for dealing with
that situation. I always look
forward to Grandfather’s
letters!
The pastor told us that the Bible is a
“letter form God” written by prophets,
disciples, spiritual leaders, and other men
and women who were inspired by the Holy
Spirit. He said God’s Word tells us about
God’s character, His love for everyone,
and His plan to save us from sin. I didn't
understand what he meant until I began
getting letters from my grandfather.
Now, it makes
sense! God tells
stories, give great
advice, and shows
me how to stay
away from trouble
just like
Grandfather does.
The apostle Paul wrote many love letters
to the members of the churches in
Corinth, Ephesus, and Galatia. He
encouraged them to be faithful to Jesus,
and he gave them wonderful advice on
how to love one another in the church and
in the family.
If you like getting letters, do what I do. Grab
a modern translation of the Bible and read a
few chapters. Begin with the book of
Matthew or check our Psalms. You’ll learn
that Jesus died for you and is, right this
minute, building a mansion for you in
heaven. How wonderful that is! Think of
God as a really smart grandfather with a
backyard full of birds. Then enjoy you Bible
– God’s letter of love to you.
