MUSIC
Music of the Highland of Luzon

The qualities of Luzon's highland music are as follows:

An indigenous folk song from the Cordillera is called salidumay. Salidumay is


used in Cordilleran songs to convey thankfulness, praise, and wooing but has
no precise translation. It is a song about a woman's acceptance or rejection
during courting. The song is performed and sung in Tagalog.
 Some of Salidumay's song qualities
include signs of either acceptance or
rejection, admiration of an emotion,
soft melodies, and a courtship music .
 Listen to Salidumay's original and
Tagalog versions.

VISAYAS' Arts and Crafts
ILOILO
• Heritage houses, churches, and other architecture can be found across Iloilo, as well as some of
the best local cuisine.
The Miag-ao Church is built in the Baroque Romanesque style.
 It has substantial stone walls that protect against Moro trespassers.
 Flora and fauna are heavily ornamented on its facade.
 Corals and limestone are used to create it.

CEBU FURNITURE
• Their inventions have provided the locals with a living and established their path in the world of
industrial designs. Natural materials are utilized to create furniture, giving it a colorful appearance
and creating masterpieces that fill spaces in homes and businesses.
Vito Selma
 As the country's youngest designer, he helped to make Cebu and the Philippines known as
centers of design. The Geo table was made by him; he is an industrial and furniture designer.
Kenneth Cobonpue
 He is a renowned industrial designer from the Philippines who uses organic materials in his
inventive creations.
Bohol Architecture
• The 7.2-magnitude earthquake that occurred in 2013 struck the oldest church in Bohol,
Baclayon Church, which was constructed in 1596.
• The white eggs were used as cement, the structure is built of coral stone, and the altar
is covered in gold.

MIMAROPA's Arts and Crafts

The Mindoro Pakudos design was created from a cross.


• It may be seen in their handicrafts, such as textiles, baskets, and accessories, and is
made up of linear patterns, cross designs, and equal amounts of space and lines.
Hanunoo Script (Surat Mangyan)
 The inhabitants who lived in Southern Mindoro before the arrival of the Spanish used
this writing system. Their traditional poetry, known as ambahan, includes seven
syllables each line.
 It was handwritten from bottom to top, written poetry were more frequently chanted,
scripts were expressions of love, and the history of the script was typically inscribed on
bamboo with a sharp instrument.

Manunggul Jar (Palawan)


 It is a secondary burial jar that Victor Decalan and Hans Kasten discovered at the
Tabon Cave in March 1964, and it is regarded as the most valuable relic in the
Philippines.
 In addition to two human figures where the boatman is paddling, the cover was carved
with curvilinear scroll patterns that depict the sea's waves.
 The mummified remains are kept in storage. Its tan-like tint resembles mud or clay,
and it replicates the idea that there is life after death.
Moriones Mask (Marinduque)
 When celebrating the Moriones Festival during the Lenten Season, a Morion
or a follower of St. Longinus uses this.
 The masks and costumes are bright and differ by an act of self-cleansing as
part of a catholic religion. Its qualities include being constructed from palm or
fiber helmet masks.
 By wearing a mask, one fulfills a vow of repentance and appreciation and
represents the Roman soldier who pursued Longinus and executed him.

 Eggroll
Eggrolling is rolling with the hips lifted, the chin tucked to the chest, the knees bent, and the
head pointing downward.

 Cartwheel
A cartwheel is a sideways rotation of the body.

 Backward Roll
The reverse of the forward roll.

 Forward Roll
Forward Roll begins with standing, then bending down, spreading their hands and
shoulders apart and facing forward, then rolling, squatting, and standing.

 Split
Split refers to a position in which the legs are stretched in different directions.

4. Plan out your nutritious menu.
5. Reach your health objectives.
You must be conscious of the foods you consume daily and follow to
