WHAT INFLUENCES YOUR CAREER CHOICE?
1.Skills and abilities- fit a particular occupation/ job. Trait-
Factor theories- recommend creating occupational
profiles for specific jobs as well as identifying individual
differences, matching individuals to occupations based on
these differences.
2.Interest and Personality type- Holland Career
Typology- widely used to connect personality types and
career fields.
3.Life roles- being a worker is just one of your life goals.
Super’s Lifespan Theory- addresses the fact that we
each play multiple roles in our lives.

4.Previous Experience- having positive experiences
and role models working in specific careers may
influence the set of careers we consider. Krumbolt’z
Social Learning and Planned Happenstance theories
address factors related to our experiences with

economy and resulting job market may also affect
how our careers develop.

ACTIVITY 3: DRESSING UP MINI ME!
Procedure
1. Cut out the Mini Me
2. Dress the doll based on your preferred curriculum exit. Include tools of
profession or curriculum exits.
3. Determine the symbolic parts of the dress/ tools (ex. Book or uniform)
4. In the symbolic parts, write down the skills and/ or knowledge (ex.
Communication skills, interpersonal relations, logical reasoning ability,
clerical mechanical skills) needed for the preferred curriculum exits.
5. In the symbolic tools, write down the possible job market demand and
possible curriculum exits.
