E.g Find the number of Odd days in 75 days

75/7 = Q(10) +R(5) =5 odd days
E.g 35 days
35 /7 = Q(5) +R(0) = 0 odd day

Non-leap year = 365 days =365/7 = 52weeks

100 years = 24 leap years + 76 non-leap years
Leap year = 2 odd days
Non-leap year =1 odd day

No. of odd days in 100 years

= 24 * 2 + 76 * 1
= 48 + 76 = 124 = 124/7 = Q(17)
+R(5)
So, No. of Odd days in 100 years = 5
No. of odd days in 200,300,400 years
200 = 2 * 100 => 2 *5 = 10 = 10/7= Q(1) +R(3)
200= 3 odd days
300 = 3 * 100 => 3 *5 =15 = 15/7 =Q(2) +R(1)
300= 1 odd day
400 = 4 *100 => 4*5= 20 +1(400th year is a leap year)

300 1 MONDAY
400 0 SUNDAY
Every 4th century has 0 Odd day

700 = 400 +300 = 0+1 = 1 odd day

1800 = 1600 + 200 = 0+3 = 3 Odd days
2001 = 2000 + 1= 0 +1 = 1 odd day
2009 = 2000 + 9 = 0+ 4 = 4 odd days
9 years = 2leap year + 7 non-leap year = 2*

100 years contain 5 odd days. So, last day of 1st century is
'Friday'
200 years contain (5×2)=10 odd days =3 odd days.
So. last day of 2nd century is 'Wednesday'.
300 years contain (5×3)=15 odd days =1 odd day.
∴ Last day of 3rd century is 'Monday'.
400 years contain 0 odd days.
∴ Last day of 4th century is 'Sunday'
Since the order is continually kept in successive cycles, we
see that the last day of a century cannot be Tuesday,
Thursday or Saturday.
