INTRODUCTION:-

National Integration refers to the connection and unity between


individuals irrespective of caste, creed, and religion, or gender. It’s the
felling of brotherhood, unity and social cohesion within the society and
communities of the country. National Integration is a way to keep the
country united and strong from within , despite the diversity. Therefore,
the significance of national integration can be best explained by phrase
‘Unity in Diversity . Such a country will always be on the path of
development and prosperity .
Education, Social and cultural unity, equality among
people also helps to teach the felling of National Integration. National
Integration makes the people of a country be present in harmony. This
works only by strengthening the social bond between them. It endorses
brotherhood,. Peace, and tolerance among them.
Meaning of Education for National
Integration:-
National Integration most simply and briefly means national unity . National
Integration is the awareness of a common identity amongst the citizens of a
country . It means unifying all the forces in the forces in the country so as to give
the idea of one National Integration involves ,the sentiments of nationalism the
feeling of oneness. Social, political ,economic, linguistic and cultural unity, common
ideas of life and common code of behavior , the ability to subordinate sectarian
and parochial loyalties to loyalty of the nation.
• All children should be given knowledge about the important events and
happenings of our national movement.
• Education should be reorganized to teach the essential unity in the qualities of
communal hormony and human fellow feeling.
• National Integration cannot be built by brick and mortar, it can be built chisel
and hammer. It has to grow silently in the minds and hearts of men Dr.
RADHAKRISHNAN
What is National Integration ?

 National Integration is the process of bringing together different


groups of people into a cohesive and unified nation.
 It is based on the principle of unity in diversity, which recognizes that
while different groups may have different cultures and traditions ,they
can still live together in harmony and cooperation.

Suggestions for Educational Programmes for
National Integration:
 Scrutiny of the books , taught in schools, should be made.
 Items which spoil national outlook and preach antinational thinks
should be removed from hose books.
 People of different castes and religions should willingly participate in
national fairs and festivals.
 Dramas and discussions advocating national harmony should be
organized all over the country.
 Motion pictures, radio ,TV and newspaper should be harnessed to
achieved national unity.
 All government services should be thrown open to all without any
consideration of caste, creed ,colour,sex,religion and province.
