INTRODUCTION
• The European Union (EU) is a political and economic union of 27
member states located primarily in Europe. It traces its origins to
the aftermath of World War II, to foster cooperation and prevent
further conflict through economic integration.​

• The EU operates through a system of supranational institutions,


with the European Commission acting as the executive branch, the
European Parliament as the legislative branch, and the European
Council representing the member states' governments. Its
headquarters are located in Brussels, Belgium.​
