MULTIMETER

•This is used to test the

integrity of circuits and
the quality of
electricity in computer
components.
•TYPES OF
MULTIMETER
• 1. DIGITAL MULTIMETER
- are modern, reliable measuring devices
characterized by high measurement accuracy and
various functional capabilities.
• 2. ANALOG MULTIMETER
- are multifunction electrical measuring
instruments with indication by means of an
arrow scale.
1. A SCALE
This is how you read the value being
measured.
2. A NEEDLE OR
POINTER
•This is the needle-shaped rod that
moves over the scale of a meter.
3. AN ADJUSTMENT
SCREW
•This allows you adjust the pointer to
the zero position of the scale- usually
with the help of a flat head
screwdriver.
4. A ZERO OHM
SELECTOR
•The zero ohm adjustment knob is
used to calibrate the multimeter
when you want to measure the
resistance of an object.
5. A RANGE
SELECTOR KNOB
•This allows you to adjust the
settings of the multitester.
6. PORTS
•The holes at the front of the
multitester are known as ports,
7. TEST PROBES
•It is an instrument used to connect
a multitester to a Device Under
Test(DUT)
Unlocking Difficulties:

VOLT
orce,
n of .
earge . -is a unit of
an measurement of
electrical pressure
or voltage.
Steps on How to READ
VOLTAGE SCALE
1. Prepare all the necessary
tools, materials and PPE.

ANTI-STATIC
HARD HAT MULTITESTER
GLOVES
2. CHECK the
MULTITESTER if it
is functioning
properly.
3. SET the MULTITESTER to
the rated voltage range.

REMINDER: When testing an unknown

voltage set the tester to the highest
range.
