Some Examples:
1. If A:B = 2:3, B:C = 5:9 and C:D = 6:7 then find the value of A:B:C:D?

2. If Rs.4200/- is distributed among Amar and Madan in the ratio 9:5, how much
amount Madan will receive?
3. According to the decision of a court Rs.4500/- is distributed among A, B and C in the
ratio 4:3:2. Find differences in A and C’s amount?
Some Examples:
5. In a school ratio between the number of boys to girls is 3:2. If 500 boys are more
than girls, how many girls are there?
6. If an amount is distributed among P, Q and R in the ratio 2:5:7. If total amount of P
and R is Rs.800/- more then Q, find the amount received by P?
7. The ratio of boys and girls in a class is 2:3. If 20 boys and same numbers of girls take
the new admission then ratio becomes 4:5. Find the number of girls in the class?

9. If x:y = 3:4, find the value of 7x + 3y : 7x – 3y.
10. If a:b = 5:7, c:d = 2a : 3b, then ac : bd ?
11. If 5783 is divided into A, B, C such that when 28, 37 & 18 are deducted from their
respective shares, then money left in ratio 4:6:9. What is share of A?
