Overview

RenewAgra is a global crop company focusing on growing cereals and sugar by


using three businesses that operate in the US, Brazil, Mexico, Germany, and India.
One pf their businesses is operating on SAP systems. They are a growing company
that faces several challenges and require a unified management system to ensure
their operations are not interrupted.
Business and Technical
Requirements
CropCo is a company to takes raw materials from farms, various crops, and processes them into grains and
sugars. It operates several large facilities. It needs to ensure track the availability and timing of incoming
materials. Establishing a reliable communication link between the company and farmers could facilitate this.
TransCo trades, transports and exports processed cereals, grains, sugar, and rice. It owns and operates
trucks, ships and railcars. It needs to project when transportation is available to ship goods. A asset tracking
and scheduling system would be needed.
EnvoData is a company that sells data to farmers that is used to estimate growing conditions. It needs a
database location that is accessible, so that farmers can upload and access data as needed.
Regulations that affect them are tax regulations from country to country and various agricultural inspection
requirements.
Questions for Stakeholders.
1. How do farmers report crop status?
2. Which company handles storage of processed materials?
3. How much storage company does that company have?
4. What format of data do farmers download from EnviroData?
Stakeholders and Partners

Stakeholders
Farmers, Processing Plant representatives, Transportation Supervisors,
Warehousing Supervisors, Trading Managers, Government liaisons.
Interest
Farmers are low interest, Processing Plant representatives are high interest,
Transportation Supervisors are high interest, Warehousing Supervisors are high
interest, Trading Managers are low interest, Government liaisons are low interest.
I chose Delaware as a partner, because they have extensive enterprise asset
management, supply chain planning, supply chain logistic, and global experience.
This will assist me in identifying and mitigating risk associated with international
regulatory environment.
Business Environment

Two of the analytic tools mentioned in this course are Financial Closing Cockpit Software and the SIEM Intelligence.
PESTLE for CropCo
Political – Faces challenges through navigating various environmental, international treaties and agricultural regulations. Economic – It
is the most profitable company within RenewAgra and lowest estimated growth over the next 12 months. Social – Managers have long-
standing relationships with local growers. Technology – Reporting is completed using excel spreadsheets. Legal – Legal framework
needs to satisfy US, Mexico, Brazil and India standards. Environmental – Crop yield is susceptible to changing weather patterns.
Activity 3 PESTLE for TransCrop
Political - Faces challenges through navigating various environmental, international treaties and maritime regulations Economic - It
generates the second largest profit for RenewAgra and maintains the largest fleet of assets. Social – Use of petroleum-based vehicle is
strictly scrutinized. Technology – Reliant on 1980s acquired supply chain management (SCM) system to manage its fleet of vehicles.
Part of its overseas fleet is operated without GPS systems. Legal – Legal framework needs to satisfy US, Mexico, Brazil and India
standards. Environmental – Shipping is susceptible to changing weather patterns
PESTLE for EnvoData
Political - Faces challenges through navigating various environmental, international treaties and data security regulations. Economic –
Generates lowest revenue with the largest growth potential. Social – Data must be accessible by various language speakers.
Technology – Operates on full SAP S/4Hana suite, SAP Analytics on-premise solution, and an SAP Fiori UX. Legal - Legal framework
needs to satisfy US, Mexico, Brazil and India standards. Environmental – Reliant on continuous power generation and conductivity
requirements.
Products and Solutions

1. Crop shortages of failures due to unfavorable atmospheric conditions. By


integrating farmers into the system, they will be able to project future weather
conditions and report better estimates of crop yield.
2. Transportation issues caused by assets breaking. With an asset tracking system,
asset maintenance and readiness will be accessible allowing planners to plan for
contingencies will realistic foresight.
3. Material shortages. Production personnel will be able to be able to forecast
requirements.
4. Production shortages. Production personnel will be able to provide live updates to
sellers on the availability of products.
SAP Team Training Strategies

Training customers on systems will ensure they have a positive experience.

Training Farmers to download appropriate information can allow them to plan for

potential weather events.

Training production personnel to provide appropriate data can help shipping

personnel plan for transportation.


Conclusion

RenewAga is a growing business that is at risk of a significant

operations failure due to outdated technology and a lack of unified

communications. A digital transformation that links partner to

producer to client will mitigate a significant amount of inherent risk

the company faces.
