What is MULTIMEDIA?
The word MULTIMEDIA derives from the word “MULTI” which means many
or much, and “MEDIA” which can refer to text, drawings, graphics, etc.

In common usage, multimedia refers to the usage of multiple


media of communication, including video, still images,
animation, audio, and text, in such way that they can be
accessed interactively.
The elements of multimedia are:
TEXT
A text is any form of communication that is intended to express an idea,
thought, or concept to an audience.

GRAPHICS
Graphics refers to visual images or designs created or displayed on a screen
or printed on a physical medium. Can also be referred to as images.
 ANIMATION
The process of
turning two-
dimensional and
three-dimensional
still images into
moving images. In
the entertainment
industry, animation
can be used to
bring characters to
life, but it can be
used to make any
still image appear
moving.
AUDIO
Audio is the audible part of a transmitted signal that is a
recording/reproduction of acoustic signals, therefore sound is the
vibration transmitted through a solid, liquid, or gas.

VIDEO
The term video refers to the moving picture,
accompanied by sound such as a picture in Television.
Video element of multi media application gives a lot of
information in small duration of time.
