1
Problem Statement
• The rapid rise of deep fake technology challenges information integrity, personal security, and public
trust, causing misinformation campaigns, identity theft, and defamation. Current detection methods,
though improving, struggle with high accuracy and robustness against sophisticated and evolving
deep fake techniques.
• This project aims to address these challenges by developing innovative approaches to enhance the
performance of deep fake detection systems. The goal is to create a detection model that not only
improves accuracy and reliability but also adapts to new types of deep fakes, ensuring timely and
effective identification of fake content.

2
Research Gaps
1. Detection Accuracy and Robustness:
• Existing deep fake detection models often struggle with high false positive and false negative
rates, particularly when dealing with high-quality and subtle deep fakes.
2. Adaptability to New Deep Fake Methods:
• Deep fake generation techniques are rapidly evolving, making it difficult for detection methods
to keep pace.
3. Limited Dataset Variety:
• Existing studies often use a limited variety of datasets, which may not fully represent real-world
scenarios.

3
Research Objective
1. Improved Detection Accuracy and Robustness:
• Develop advanced machine learning algorithms that achieve higher accuracy in detecting deep
fakes, reducing both false positive and false negative rates. Create models that generalize well
to various types of deep fakes, including those generated by emerging techniques.
2. Enhance Adaptability to New Deep Fake Methods:
• Design and Implement continual learning mechanisms to keep detection models up-to-date
with the latest deep fake technologies.
3. Use Variety of Dataset:
• Enhancing the performance and generalizability of deepfake detection systems by leveraging a
variety of diverse datasets.
