MCS
MCS
1.CCS
2.BM(Boilre master or boiler main control)
3.TM(Turbine master or turbine main control)
The function of CCS
1. Forming the load instruction of the unit
2. Frequency modulation
3 Load instruction limitation
4. Runback
5. Run-up or Rundown
6. The operation of BOILER MASTER,TURBINE
MASTER under BASE MODE,
BOILER FOLLOW, TURBINE FOLLOW AND CCS
MODES.
7. The Switch of BASE mode BOILER
FOLLOW,TURBINE FOLLOW and CCS
mode.
1.CCS
Basically to control internal parameter’s of unit like (1) M S Pre. (2)
Load. Also to coordinate sensitive turbine and slow restore of
boiler auxiliaries good for network and unit stability. Both Boiler
and Turbine control ON Auto.
The load demand setpoint is used as feed forward signal for the
fuel and air flow setpoint in a proportional and rate manner.
COORDINATE CONTROL SYSTEM.

2) BFM:
Boiler follow turbine. Turbine on Load control- Boiler ON
Auto-control pressure with BLI as feed forward. MW
demands are met by Turbine firstly and lesser importance
to unit stability. (Pr fluctuation is more)

3) TFM: Turbine follow Boiler. Boiler Master on manual
mode. Turbine maintains pressure by varing MSCV the
MW depends on steam output from boiler Best for unit
stability .(Pr is constant)

RUNDOWN
Equipment is at its maximum capacity, the process
variable less than set point and corresponding control loop
error is excessive.
Some condition are
1. Feed water instruction is at upper limit but the actual
feed water flow rate is lower than value by allowable
deviation.
2. Fuel instruction is at the upper limit but the actual fuel
is lower than setting value allowable deviation.
3. FD Fan instruction is at upper limit but actual air flow is
lower than the setting value by allowable deviation.
4. ID Fan instruction is at upper limit but actual furnace pr
higher than the setting value by allowable deviation.
(THE RESULT OF RD IS TO MAKE THE ULD
DECREASE AT SOME RATE THIS CAN REDUCE THE
PROCESS VARIABLE OF THE EQUIPMENT )
RUNUP
Equipment is at its minimum capacity, process variable
is greater than set point the and the corresponding
control loop error is excessive
(VICE VERSA)
7) UNIT CAPABILITY:
Capability to produce MW at that instant, signal depends
on the number of auxiliaries in service and their
contribution is expressed as MW signal, which they can
support.
