• GV Black developed a numeric formula so to
describe the dimensions and angels of working end.
INSTRUMENT MOTIONS:-
• Chopping – using the instrument parallel to long
axis of blade
• Pulling - moving the instrument towards the
operator hand
• Pushing – moving the instruments away
• Scrapping – moving the instrument from side to side
or back and fourth on tooth surface
• Thrusting – Forcibly pushing the instruments against
a surface
