PURPOSE OF SENIOR
HIGH SCHOOL WORK
IMMERSION
One of the goals of the K to 12 basic Education
Program is to develop in learners the
competencies, work ethics and values relevant to
pursuing further education and /or joining the
world of work. To achieve greater congruence
between basic education and the nation's
development targets. Work immersion, a required
subject, has been incorporated into the
curriculum. This subject will provide learners with
opportunities:

1. to become familiar with work place


2. for employment simulation; and
Work Immersion will help develop among the
learners life and career skills, and will prepare them
to make decisions on post secondary education or
employment. Through partnership building, SJPIICD
and DepEd hopes that the Partner Institutions will
provide learners with work immersion opportunities,
workplace or hands-on experience, and additional
learning resources. It aims to make the learners:
1. appreciate the importance and application of the
principles and theories learned in school;
2. enhance their technical knowledge and skills;
3. enrich their skills in communications and human
relations; and;
4. develop good work habits, attitudes,
appreciation and respect for work.
SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL
WORK IMMERSION
POLICY
A. Tardiness
A learner is considered late for any of the
following reasons:

When the student arrives not more than 15


minutes after the prescribe time of duty
B. Absences
A learner is considered absent for any of the following
reasons:
b.1 not physically present during the work immersion
period
b.2 has arrive 16 minutes after the start of prescribe
time of duty
b.3 has accumulated three (3) instances (not
necessarily consecutive) of tardiness
b.4 has no school identification card
b.5 not wearing the prescribed uniform
b.6 leaving the work immersion venue without any
prior consent of the respective work immersion partner
institution supervisor/ work immersion teacher
C. Excused Absences are considered for
the following grounds:
c.1 verified illness
c.2 death of an immediate family member
D. Sanctions will be immediately executed once violations are
verified and demerits are deducted straight from the Work
Immersion Evaluation Grade. Refer to the table below for the
