 Technology commercialization is the process of transitioning technologies from


the research lab to the marketplace. This activity is complimentary to the
process of publishing research findings.

Technology commercialization helps create new start-up businesses


and expands the product lines of existing companies.

 Technology Development Programme

 The Indian Government constructed the Technology Development Board (TDB)


in order to boost the development of technology in the country. The board
was first introduced in September 1996 in the Act of Technology Development
Board, 1995. TDB is authorised to implement the technology development
programme in different fields of production. The aim of the Board is to
encourage innovations in Indian industries.

 Following are the objective of the technology development programme:

 The main goal of the technology development programme is to create


and develop advanced technologies.

 Modernisation of the conventional technologies in the sectors like


manufacturing and production to increase the production of
goods.

 To promote the research and development (R&D) activities in


order to develop the advanced and cost-effective technologies
within the nation.
