 The fuel wood demand and supply estimation and analysis is made

 This study shows as there is deficiency of wood in Ethiopia

 The Ethiopian government has embarked on a two-sided policy

 Tree planting or a forestation

 Dissemination of more efficient stove technologies

 The motivation in here is, to examine the potential of the strategy

of disseminating improved stoves

Statement of the Problem

 The Ethiopian inhabitants are dependent on the traditional and inefficient biomass stoves. This

cooking stoves loss thermal energy and releases waste gases to the surrounding and these results in

veiling cooking areas with smoke and the primary victims are females, since they are responsible

for cooking in rural area of Ethiopia. Because of this, biomass fuel consumption is increase, which

also in turn increases the horizon of deforestation.

 To this end this project work aimed at improving the current inefficient three stone stove to more

efficient gasifier stove, which will significantly reduce the fuel consumption and improves the

livelihood of the household in rural area of the country, Ethiopia.

 Furthermore, it is intended to design and manufacture the stove from locally available materials at

lower cost, so that it can affordable to buy for the rural households.

 Therefore, the gasifier stove can contribute towards the Sustainable development goal number

seven; availing affordable, renewable and clean energy to all.

Objectives
General objective
 Developing and manufacturing of gasifier stove for household cooking
Specific objectives
 To characterize the wood through ultimate and proximate analyses
 Design and develop energy efficiency gasifier cook stoves to reduce carbon
emissions from households in south Gondar.

 To manufacture and implementing improved cooking stove suitable for

household cooking system.

 To assess the emission reduction as a result of using gasification technology

as compared to current practice

 The gaps from the above reviewed literature to be deal in this project .

 As we have seen the above literature, several researchers investigated wood

improved stoves.
 Several investigators increased the efficiency of stove. However, the stoves still

need increasing efficiency and reducing emission as possible as below WHO

guidelines.
 Therefore, this project will be addressing the environmental pollution problem

caused by biomass cooking stoves with energy efficient thermal conversion

gasifier stove technology.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
 Methods

 In order to design the gasifier-cooking stove, ultimate and proximate analyses of

wood fuel will be performing.

 The stove is designing by using important parameters that need to be considered

to determine the appropriate size of the wood gasifier reactor

 The model gasifier stove is going to manufacture and implementing for

household cooking system.

 Finally the emission reduction and the thermal efficiency of the stove are

analyzing by using WBT and CCT with IAP Monitoring equipment.

Expected results
The expected key results from the project intervention will be:

 Lowered Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions from cookstoves within

households where inefficient stoves are replacing.

 Improved household energy efficiency, including economic benefits,

due to change from traditional stoves to gasifier stoves.

 Gender outcomes ascertain.
