Bearing Lesson Objective At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to apply good posture in standing, sitting, and walking. Proper Posture is the position wherein the general line of the body is graceful and the body weight is distributed to give maximum support and You should practice the correct way of sitting, standing, and walking while still young to get used to observing good posture. Proper Sitting Posture See to it that the chair is properly placed. Stand before the chair with the back of your legs touching the front edge of the chair. Slowly put your body down until all your weight is on the chair. Lean straight when sitting and avoid drooping. Proper Sitting Posture Place your hands over your lap and feet flat on the floor. As much as possible, avoid crossing your legs. This will hinder the normal blood circulation in your lower Proper Standing Posture Slowly push your body slightly forward and put your weight on your feet while raising your body to a standing position. Proper Standing Posture You may shift your weight from one leg to the other by putting one foot slightly forward at an angular position to the other foot. Carry the weight of your body alternately on each foot. Your head should be erect with the chin up. Proper Walking Posture When you walk, the toes of your feet should point forward, chin down, shoulders relaxed, stomach in, and hips in. Sway your arms in a relaxed manner as you walk and do not sway your hips and body too much. Avoid creating noise by dragging your shoes while walking. Proper Walking Posture Good posture is important for health and appearane. Poor posture can cause backaches, poor blood circulation, and cramping of internal organs. Weak and inflexible muscles are the most common results of poor posture. Proper Walking Posture Your body is like a machine that should be rested from time to time. For growing up kids like you, 8 hours of sleep is ideal. Make it a habit to see your doctor for a physical checkup and your dentist for a dental checkup at least once or twice a year.
