hospitality industry, it is important to understand
its historical origin. A person cannot project he
future without understanding the past.
Philosophers say it another way: “Knowledge is
telling the past. Wisdom is predicting the future.”
In line with this philosophy, this chapter will
explore the history of this marvelous industry
called tourism and hospitality.
