INTRODUCTION
Merriam –Webster online dictionary defines family
as the basic unit in society traditionally consisting of two
parents rearing their children. This definition may not hold
true today for there are children who are raised by only a
mother, a father or even grandparent but they still
consider themselves as a family.
Cleofe (2016) stated that family is our source of
love and strength. It is where you learn the basics of life
with its splendors and complexities. The upbringing of
people whom you consider as parents may have an eternal
effect on your well-being. You may always look up to
people who have reared and cared for you. These people
can either build up or destroy your full potential. If your
development is hampered, it will affect the community you
live in.
