ASSET MANAGEMENT
❖More than 80% of government data is tied to a location on the
Earth.
❖To collect all the information about the study area ie, the assets in
the revenue village and create shapefiles using QGIS.
❖To create spatial database using PostGIS.
❖To develop a software application using Openlayers.
❖To produce a dynamic and interactive web application using
APACHE Tomcat.
STUDY AREA
NEENDAKARA-A REVENUE VILLAGE
❖A Revenue Village is a small administration region in India, a village
with defined borders.
❖The Village Administration Officer (VAO) is the head of the revenue
village.
❖Neendakara-A(East & Town) village is located in Agastheeswaram
Taluk of Kanyakumari district in Tamil Nadu, India.
❖Situated between
8° 9' 6.7026“ - 8° 11' 18.186“ latitudes

CONCLUSION
❖WebGIS being a developing field in India, and has been
developed in many other nations, is very essential for a planned
and coordinated growth, just with a very little investment.
❖This paper provides the information about all the basic assets in
a revenue village.
❖All these basic asset information are very essential for planning,
managing and maintaining the assets, which is possible only
through the implementation of GIS.
❖By providing the data generated in a GIS framework, into a
Geospatial world using WebGIS methodology, helps in cutting
cost and quickly get back the return on investment.
