TELE-CONFERENCING
Tele-conferencing is essentially alive interactive audio, video or audio-video meeting that
ensures between two or more participants who are at different places.

Participants communicate via telecommunicating networks using their tablets, mobile phones,
laptops, computers and specially designed tech enabled meeting rooms.

Tele-Conferencing can be defined as an interactive group communication or a real time


interaction between two or more people in two or more locations through an electronic
medium.

VIDEO CONFERENCES
1.Audio Teleconference
This is also called conference calling.
Participants links via telephone lines.
Meeting can be conducted via audio conference.
Distance learning can be conducted by audio conference.
2.Audio Graphics Teleconference
This telecommunication channels transit visual information such as graphics, documents
and video pictures as an help to voice communication.

This type of communication is useful for meetings and distance learning.


3.Computer Teleconference
Telephone lines are connected with two or more computers. Anything that can be done on a
computer can be sent over the lines. Using electronic mail (Email) memos, reports, letters, lessons
can be sent to anyone on the local area network (LAN) or wide area Network (WAN). Items generated
by computer which are normally in printed form are sent by Email.

Computer conferencing is an emerging area for distance education. Students receive texts and work
books via E-mail. Students download these files and use for further study.
4.Audio – Video Teleconference
Voice communication and video images are used for conferences. It can display anything that can be
captured by a TV camera. Here you can see and hear person on a television monitor. Participants face-to-
face meeting enables to see the facial expressions and physical behaviour of participants at remote sites
Graphics are used to enhance understanding.

Video conferencing is an effective way to use one teacher two teaches to a number of sites. Video
conferencing maximizes efficiency because it provides a way to meet the several groups in different
locations at the same time.

Tele conferencing technology can connect students across the world. Many museums,

science centres and colleges understand the benefits of teleconferencing and provide special

educational programmes via teleconference that students anywhere can access


2. Adds excitement to traditional methods

When students learn about real life topics directly from other students with

who they can relate directly. Using teleconferencing as a supplement to learning

can add a level of interest and diversity to the classroom


3. Teaches planning and organizational skills

Since a teleconference usually involves a presentation, it requires some level

of preparation beforehand. This encourages team work and collaboration within

the classrooms as well as a large level of organizing and planning


4. Teaches public speaking skill

Any time student have to present in front of others, they are forced to

communicate more effectively. The nature of the teleconference is a face to face

communication.
5. Improves student’s memory retention

Teleconference can improve student’s memory retention by appealing to a

variety of different learning styles by including diverse media such as video,

audio clips, graphics and animation and computer applications .

The visual connection and interaction among participants enhance

understanding and allow both the content providers and the students to feel

connected to one another.
