Our lesson this morning is about


noting details on a story read, such as:
• character
• setting
• events
Lesson Language Practice:
Before reading the story let’s discuss first
the unfamiliar words from the story.

1.Ngumunguya - chew - usap-usap

2.Nganga - bethel nut - bunga /nga


nga

3.Pagngalngal - name calling


During / Proper Lesson:

I have here a story, I will read first


and then we will read together, and next
you will read alone.
Nakita ni Paeng na ngumunguya ng nganga
ang Nanay niya.
Humingi siya ng nganga. Umiling ang Nanay
niya. Umiyak si Paeng.
Hindi kinakain ang nganga, nginunguya
lamang ng matatanda, sabi ng Nanay.
Tumigil sa pagngalngal si Paeng.
Reread the story alone with the learners and ask them to read
again alone.

Questions:

1.Sino ang humingi ng nganga sa Nanay?


2.Kanin humingi ng nganga si Paeng
3.Ano ang hiningi ni Paeng sa kanyang Nanay?
4.Ano ang ginawa ni Paeng nng umiling ang kanyang Nanay?
5.Bakit siya umiyak?
6.Bakit kaya hindi siya binigyan ng nganga sa kanyang
Nanay?
7. Sa inyong palagay tama baa ng ginawa ni Paeng
na umiyak agad dahil hindi pumayag ang nanay niya
sa kanyang gusto?

8.Kung kayo si Paeng at hindi pumayag ang inyong


nanay sa inyong gusto, ano ang gagawin ninyo?

9. Sa inyong tahanan, sumusunod ba kayo sa


inyong mga magulang? Bakit kailangan nating
sumunod sa ating mga magulang.

you mean by character, setting and event?

2. Where does the story happened?

3. What are the events of the story? What


happened first in the story? Second and third?
Group Work:
The pupils will be group into 3, each group will be
given questions regarding the story.

1.Who are the characters (tauhan) of the story?

2.Where do you think the story happened?

3.What are the events happened in the story?


Making Generalization and Abstract:
What have you learned in the story?

 Character - refers to person in the story.

 Settings – when and where the story


happened.

 Events – what happened in the story.
