CSiBridge

CSiBridge is an advanced software developed by Computers and Structures, Inc. for the modeling, analysis, and design of bridge structures, integrating various engineering tasks into a user-friendly platform. It offers automated load analysis, design options for different bridge types, and facilitates seismic vulnerability assessments, exemplified by the analysis of the MacArthur Bridge in Manila. The software is widely used globally, providing tools for efficient structural engineering in complex bridge projects.

Modeling, analysis and design of bridge

structures have been integrated into CSiBridge to
create the ultimate in computerized engineering
tools.
COMPUTERS &
STRUCTURES, INC.
Founded in 1975, Computers and Structures, Inc. (CSI) is recognized globally
as the pioneering leader in software tools for structural and earthquake
engineering. Software from CSI is used by thousands of engineering firms in
over 160 countries for the design of major projects. CSI produces primary
software including: SAP2000, CSiBridge, SAFE, and many other more.
HISTORY
Bridges are a very special class of structures. They are characterized by their complexity
in bridge geometry and loading. The geometry of a bridge structure is defined by a number
of features that include the alignment (both vertical and horizontal) and the superstructure
type. The geometry of a bridge may become more complex when certain features of the
bridge vary across spans such as girder depths, deck widths and girder properties.
Support conditions can also contribute to the complexity of a bridge model.

structures.
BENEFITS
MODELING
The bridge models are defined parametrically, using common bridge engineering terms such
as layout lines, spans, bearings, abutments, bents, hinges and post-tensioning.

ANALYSIS
CSiBridge load case options include static, staged construction, multi-step static, modal,
response spectrum, time(response) history, moving load, buckling, steady state and more.

DESIGN
Design fully integrated with the analysis process and includes design options for concrete box girder bridges, multicell
box girder bridges, concrete slab bridges, concrete T-beam, steel I-girder and steel U-girder with composite slab
bridges.
OUTPUT
You can display deformed geometry based on any load or combination of loads, as well as
animations of modes.

OPTIMIZATION
It offers the best or most effective use of a situation or resource.

MAC ARTHUR BRIDGE

The Philippines is situated at the Pacific Ring of Fire and is
known for being the focal point of active volcanoes on both land
and water, making it susceptible to earthquakes and tsunamis
that cause threat to infrastructure. One of the most vulnerable
structures are public bridges, specifically the MacArthur Bridge
in Manila. The study focuses on analyzing the seismic
vulnerability of MacArthur Bridge when subjected to 15 local
and international high magnitude earthquakes. The main
objective of the study is to perform a seismic vulnerability
assessment of the MacArthur Bridge in Manila using the fragility
curve based on Pushover Analysis and Capacity-Spectrum
Method. To plot the fragility curve, the structural plan of the
MacArthur Bridge was modelled using the CSiBridge.
