Logical Description:

Problem & Solution

Problem : The defects in apparel industries are one type of major loss or minimize the profit. The first concern for
any manufacturer should be to produce and deliver quality products at the right time. However, defects in
product usually lead to reject, rework, time-consuming, extra working time and customer dissatisfaction.

Solution: Attempts to automate the sewing process of garment manufacturing have employed substitutes for
human guidance of fabric into somewhat conventional sewing machines. It consists of several subsystems
responsible for 1) gross fabric motion, 2) precision detection of the fabric location and 3) exact placement of the
needle in the fabric. fabric. Fine fabric motion employs vision sensing technology to count threads in the fabric.
Exact placement employs servo controlled dogs for moving the fabric to exactly place the needle.

Qualitative Unique Quantitative Unique

Values: Value:
1.Style Number: 1.Quantity Produced:
1. ST2021 1. 761
2. ST2022 2. 705
3. ST2023 3. 769
2.Material:
1. Cotton
2. Linen
3. Wool Bland

• Here Style number and Materials are Discrete Analysis and Quantity
Produced is Continuous Analysis
Step 2 : Finding Mean:

For Defects %:
Mean: 36850=7.3650368=7.36
For Defect Point:
Mean: 15050=350150=3
For Quantity Produced:
Mean: 4040350=808.065040403=808.06
For Sewing Time
Mean: 4525.650=90.512504525.6=90.512

• The Mean of Defect % is 7.36

• The Mean of Defect point is 3
• The Mean of Quantity Produced is 808.06
• The Mean for Sewing Time is 90.512
Step 3 : Correlations

• The correlation between defect % and defect point is -0.2474 so the both are
inversely proportional
• At the same time the correlation between Defect point and Quantity Produced is
Directly proportional
