Top 5 tips for success…
1. Choose a project that you can think of a range of experiments for.

2. Choose a project that you can use to play to your strengths. For example don’t
choose hyper realist painters if you are not so strong at painting realistically.

3. Choose artists that you not only like, but that you can think of appropriate
experiments in response to them.

4. Stick to deadlines for tasks set by your teacher. Use your Exam booklet to help you.

5. Most importantly: Don’t ‘end game’. You should not know what your final piece is
going to be. If you fixate on an idea, your project cannot grow.

Week 1: W/C 8th January – 3 Lessons - Focus on AO3 – Record Ideas & Artist
Research
1.Receive Question Paper and go through with Teacher support. Choose a question that interests you
and will keep your attention throughout the exam. Once you have chosen your question you cannot
change it as there is not enough time during the exam process.
2.On the first page in your sketchbook, create a simple, colourful Mind map of ideas related to your
theme. Spend no more than 45 minutes on this.

HOMEWORK –
• Choose an artist related to your theme. Make sure that the artist interests you and that you
can reproduce their work yourself. Use Pinterest or https://theartyteacher.com/artists-themes/
to help you find appropriate and interesting artists.
