Film editing is a creative and


technical part of the post production
process of filmmaking. The film editor works with the raw footage,
selecting shots and combines them into sequences which create
a finished motion picture.

Linear editing was done using the tape roles.


Negatives were cut and stitched to remove
the NG shots (not good shots) out and
come up with the final product.
This used to take a lot of time in editing.
This has gone out of practice now with
digitization of content.

a software. For movie editing, high end
software like Avid, Smoke, FCP etc are used.

including personnel, technology, budget, and scheduling. It is the PM’s responsibility
