What is ecosystem ?
An ecosystem is a community of living
organisms (plants, animals, and
microorganisms) interacting with their non-
living environment (air, water, soil, and climate)
in a specific area. These interactions help
maintain balance and sustain life within the
system.

What changes are coming to
ecosystem?
Ecosystems are undergoing significant changes due to climate
change, biodiversity loss, deforestation, pollution, and the
spread of invasive species. Rising temperatures, extreme
weather, and melting ice are disrupting habitats, while human
activities like deforestation and urbanization are leading to
habitat destruction. Pollution, including plastic waste and
chemical runoff, is harming wildlife, particularly in aquatic
ecosystems. Additionally, invasive species are outcompeting
native species, further altering biodiversity. However,
conservation efforts, reforestation, and technological
advancements like carbon capture and sustainable practices
offer hope for restoring and protecting ecosystems.
New species emerging in ecosystem
New species are constantly emerging in ecosystems,
either as natural discoveries or invasive species
altering biodiversity. Scientists have recently
identified species like the Rose-veiled Fairy
Wrasse, a vibrant fish in the Indian Ocean, and
Glacier Ice Worms, which survive in extreme icy
environments. Meanwhile, invasive species like the
Spotted Lanternfly and Lionfish are disrupting
ecosystems by preying on native species or
damaging crops. While some new species enrich
biodiversity, others threaten ecological balance,
highlighting the need for careful monitoring and
conservation efforts
how can we make ecosystem better?
We can improve ecosystems by reducing pollution,
protecting forests, conserving water, and promoting
biodiversity. Planting trees, reducing plastic waste, using
sustainable farming, and protecting endangered species
help restore balance. Supporting conservation efforts and
adopting eco-friendly habits also make a big difference
