Australia's volunteer firefighters

• Are trained to respond in any emergency in their local community and enhance
health and safety for humans and animals.
• In this group, the leader seeks to connect with, and inspire and encourage every
person who affiliates with the organization/group.
• Are expected to be on call to respond to emergency calls, and are summoned to
the fire station when their services are needed.
• They are also expected to attend other non-emergency duties as well (training,
fundraising, equipment maintenance, etc.).

• Generally, they have their own career and when they are called, they take time
off from their own work.

• They are an informal group and despite official firefighter who should be
young, fit and strong, these volunteer group comprises people from different
ages, with different skills to support the group. Moreover, they are not paid for
their volunteer job but requirements are provided for them.

• The core component of a volunteer firefighter group, like another volunteer

group, is a motivation. All the member can be a leader regarding her/his
capability to lead the group. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcubYBynljw
