Introduction to AI processes
by machines,
(Artificial especially
Intelligence)
computer systems.
These processes include
learning (the acquisition of
information and rules for using
the information), reasoning
(using rules to reach
approximate or definite
conclusions), and self-
correction.

The ultimate goal of AI is to

create systems that can
perform tasks that typically
require human intelligence,
Who found AI?
 AI is a field of study and technology that has been developed
by numerous researchers and scientists over several decades.
 It doesn't have a single founder or inventor. However, the term
"artificial intelligence" was coined by John McCarthy, Marvin
Minsky, Nathaniel Rochester, and Claude Shannon during the
Dartmouth Conference in 1956, which is often considered the
birth of AI as a field of research.
 Since then, countless researchers, engineers, and innovators
from around the world have contributed to the advancement of
AI through their work in various subfields such as machine
learning, neural networks, natural language processing,
robotics, and more.
How is AI useful?

1. Automation: AI can automate repetitive tasks, increasing efficiency and

reducing human error. This is particularly valuable in industries like
manufacturing, where robotic automation can streamline production processes.
2. Decision Making: AI systems can analyze vast amounts of data and provide
insights to support decision-making processes. This is beneficial in fields such as
finance, where AI algorithms can assess risk and optimize investment strategies.
3. Personalization: AI enables personalized experiences by analyzing user data
and preferences. This is evident in recommendation systems used by streaming
platforms, e-commerce websites, and social media platforms, which tailor
content and product suggestions to individual users.
Can AI replace
humans?

 AI can automate some tasks, but not all. It

excels in repetitive, data-driven jobs like
manufacturing and customer service. However,
tasks requiring creativity, empathy, and complex
decision-making remain challenging. Ethical,
social, and regulatory concerns also limit AI's full
replacement of human
Is AI is best for future?

 AI offers significant promise for the future, enhancing efficiency,

fostering innovation, and improving quality of life. It can drive
economic growth but also poses challenges like job displacement
and ethical concerns. Its impact on society requires careful
consideration to ensure equitable benefits and responsible
development.
How AI is used in daily life?

1. Virtual Assistants: AI-powered virtual assistants like Siri, Alexa, and Google
Assistant help with tasks such as setting reminders, managing schedules,
answering questions, and controlling smart home devices.
2. Recommendation Systems: AI algorithms analyze user preferences and
behaviors to provide personalized recommendations for products, movies,
music, and content on platforms like Netflix, Spotify, and YouTube.
3. Social Media: AI is used in social media platforms for content moderation,
personalized feeds, facial recognition, and targeted advertising.
Can AI exist
without humans?

No, AI cannot exist without
humans. Humans create, train,
maintain, and oversee AI
systems. AI lacks human-like
understanding, ethical
judgment, and the ability to
function autonomously without
human input and oversight.
Is AI a threat to
humanity?

1.Dependence on AI: As AI
systems become more
advanced, there's a concern that
humans might become overly
dependent on them. This could
lead to a loss of essential skills
and autonomy, which might be
detrimental in certain scenarios.
What are some real-world
applications of AI in various
industries?
1.Healthcare:
1.AI aids in diagnosing diseases from medical images like X-
rays and MRIs.
2.Predicts drug candidates for faster drug discovery.
3.Tailors treatment plans based on patient data for
personalized medicine.
2.Finance:
1.Executes trades based on market data using algorithmic
trading.
2.Detects fraudulent activities in financial transactions.
3.Assesses creditworthiness through AI-driven credit scoring.
Drawbacks of Artificial Intelligence

1. High Initial Cost: Implementing AI systems can be expensive,

requiring significant investment in infrastructure, hardware,
software, and skilled personnel.

2. Data Dependency: AI algorithms heavily rely on vast amounts of

high-quality data for training and accurate decision-making.
Obtaining, cleaning, and maintaining this data can be challenging
and costly.
Drawbacks of Artificial Intelligence

1. Bias and Fairness Issues: AI systems may perpetuate or

even amplify biases present in the data they are trained on,
leading to unfair or discriminatory outcomes, particularly in
areas like hiring, lending, and criminal justice.
2. Security Risks: AI systems are vulnerable to attacks and
manipulation. Adversarial attacks, where malicious actors
deliberately input misleading data to deceive AI algorithms, can
undermine the reliability and security of AI systems.
