A Study On The Book of Hosea

Hosea was a prophet in the northern kingdom of Israel before 722 BC during the reign of seven kings. God commanded Hosea to marry the prostitute Gomer as a symbol of Israel's unfaithfulness to God. Hosea's marriage and message condemned Israel for distorting their view of God and depending on their own resources instead of God. Hosea promised eventual restoration through God's love if Israel would stop their unfaithfulness and start depending on God once more.
