Senses?
Objectives
:
After this lesson, you are expected to,
1. Know the five senses

THE FIVE SENSES
AND THEIR USES
SENSES
The senses or sense organs
convey the message to the
brain what you saw, heard,
felt, smelled and tasted.
SENSES
EYES
Your eyes see 70% of the
information that reaches the brain.
The brain gives meaning to it. And
our Eyes is what we called
SENSE OF SIGHT.

EARS
It is a sensory part that helps you to
hear different sounds around you. The
pleasant and unpleasant sounds around
us we is we can hear because of our
ears. And our Ears is what we call SENSE
OF HEARING.

We use it for smell. It has two small
holes are called nostrils.

The Air enters through the nostrils. And the


muscle between the nostrils is called the
Septum. And our nose is what we call SENSE
OF SMELL.

TONGUE
Your tongue is used to perceive whether your favorite
foods are sweet, salty, hot, cold, tasty or unpleasant.

Your taste buds are tiny, scratchy bumps on your tongue


and the Papillae contain nerve terminals that send
signals to the brain. The brain interprets the taste of
food. And our tongue is what we called SENSE OF TASTE.

The skin is the largest sensory organ in
our body. It is used for touch and feel.
With the help of the skin, you can feel the
different texture its either smooth,
