A right triangle is any triangle with one right

The two sides that form the right angle are

called the legs. The side opposite the right
angle is called the hypotenuse.

A right angle creates many special

leg relationships between the sides and angles
of the triangle and is the basis of the
mathematical branch of trigonometry.

Application
1. I will divide the class in to 3 groups.
2. Each group will have their manila paper and marker
to write their answers. I will give you an envelope with a
right triangle in it.
3. Find the missing side of the triangle and solve it using
Pythagorean Theorem to know the length of the other
side.
4. After that, you are going to present your work in front
of the class to check if its correct.

SUMMARY
The Pythagorean Theorem describes the
relationship between the sides of a right
triangle.
It can be used to find the missing side of a
right triangle, which can be applied to solve
many real-life problems.
Understanding the Pythagorean Theorem is a great
foundation for learning trigonometry, the distance
formula, and more!
