VALIDATION AND

process with the aim of validating their business model,
having initial sales, and then finally expanding globally to
other markets.

The onboarding phase is where everything gets started.

We will begin with an introductory audit of all the startups chosen and
their team members, assessing what kind of stage these companies are
at (idea stage, early prototype, pre-revenue, early clients, etc.), also
taking note of their current cap table and traction.

We will instill a culture of “mindset change” and “lean shaping” at this

stage; companies should be aware that their product, business model,
or even target market will inevitably change over the course of the
accelerator program and that they should be ready to quickly adapt and
embrace an open mindset. This phase is primarily an orientation to get
to know the startups, and to prepare them for what’s to come.

As most companies going through the accelerator program will be quite far from
the product-market fit stage, the first phase will focus on completely rethinking
the startup’s problem statement, target audience, and solution.

At this stage, we introduce key company management and goal-setting metrics

such as OKRs and our proprietary TOTEM system. We emphasize the importance
of empathy with the target audience throughout the introduction of key ideation
methods and rapid-prototyping iteration frameworks to quickly validate aspects
of different solution hypotheses. This phase is primarily about problem
exploration, early adopter exploration, and constant validation of their business
idea.

Startups completing this stage should have an initial MVP (Minimum Viable

At this stage, companies should ideally have validated the early adopters,
or have figured out a process to rapidly iterate their business model.
Companies in this phase will be continually optimizing their MVP in search
of problem-solution fit. With their MVP, early adopter persona, and
landing page, companies will learn key frameworks and methods to
quickly get their first clients.

After the startups have their first clients, the growth hacking session will
begin towards the end of Phase 2 to explore customer acquisition
channels. This will also be the stage where they more critically think
about their business model, monetization, as well as pricing strategy.
Financial budgeting and planning will be taught for startups to plan their
runway and team expansion. The initial pitch decks will be developed at

In Phase 3, companies will continue to work on their growth and product

optimization. Companies should continue to explore customer acquisition
channels, messaging, user experience, monetization and pricing strategy.

Fundraising will be emphasized in this phase, as companies look to

graduate from the program and attain funding from investors to continue
working on their business afterwards . Topics such as cap tables,
valuations, investment pitches, and investor decks will be discussed
intensively as the startups approach Demo Day.

At the end of the program, the startups should ideally have a viable
product to test out paid pilots with actual interested clients and should be
on the way to seek funding from angel investors.
