Graphs of Trigonometric Functions

The document outlines a lesson plan for 11th-grade students focusing on the graphs of sine and cosine functions, including key concepts such as circular functions, trigonometric identities, and properties of these functions. Students are expected to graph these functions, explore their properties using the Desmos application, and answer guide questions about their characteristics. The lesson also includes collaborative group activities and practical applications of sine and cosine functions.

cos 𝑥?
Which function
does the plot in
the graph, figure
(a), represent?
A. Cosine
B. Sine
Which
function does
the plot in the
graph, figure

represent?
A. Cosine
B. Sine
Which function

What are the practical
applications of sine and cosine
functions? What are its real-life
applications?
The amplitude A represents the loudness of the sound. If the
wave is generated with a speaker outputting 0.5 volts, then

The period 𝑇 is the time it takes for one complete cycle of the
A = 0.5 V

wave. The period is given by:

What are the important things that you
have learned today? What are the
properties of the sine/cosine functions?
If given a general function , or , what
does a and b represent in the function?
Let’s check your
understanding
