Introduction to
Keyboarding
Touch keyboarding refers to the process of typing data into a computer without looking
at the keyboard. Understanding the correct techniques for tying and using the
keyboard helps you to type documents rapidly and accurately.
Practice Touch Typing
ESC key- The escape key is the cancel key on the keyboard. However, pressing Ctrl + Esc will
open the start menu.
F1- Will open the help functions of the active application.
F2- Rename selected files and documents.
F3- Find key, this will open the find: All File dialog box.
F4- This will drop down the web addresses in the address bar.
F5- The Refresh key. This will update or reload the current page.
F6- Moves to different panes in the internet explorer.
F10- Menu Options
F11- Allows moving between normal view mode and full view mode in the internet explorer.
F12- Opens the save-as dialogue box
Tab- This allows movement through options.
Print Screen / SysRq- Press this key and click on the paste icon to capture the display currently
