INTRODUCTION

• Deep fake is a technique for human image synthesis based on artificial

intelligence.

• Deep fakes are created by combing and superimposing existing images

and videos onto source images or videos using a deep learning technique
known as generative adversarial network.

15/04/2024 3
BACKGROUND
• Deepfake technology uses AI, especially GANs and Autoencoders, to
create realistic fake media, posing risks like misinformation and identity
fraud, making detection essential.

Relavant Concepts:
• Auto Encoders
• Digital Forensics

PROBLEM STATEMENT

• Deepfake technology enables the creation of highly realistic fake videos,

leading to risks such as misinformation, identity theft, and fraud.

• Detecting deepfakes is challenging due to their increasing sophistication.

• To combat these threats, it is crucial to design and develop a deep

learning algorithm that can accurately classify videos as deepfake or
pristine, ensuring digital authenticity and security.

15/04/2024 5
METHODOLOGY

•Phase 1: Split video into frames.

•Phase 2: Detect faces in each frame.
•Phase 3: Crop detected faces.
•Phase 4: Reconstruct a new video using cropped face frames.
•Phase 5: Extract deepfake-related features using a deep learning model.
•Phase 6: Classify the video as deepfake or pristine using a trained model.

15/04/2024 6
CONCLUSION
• Deepfake technology poses significant risks, including misinformation,
identity fraud, and cybersecurity threats, making detection essential.

• Implementing deep learning models enhances the ability to accurately

classify videos as deepfake or pristine.

• The proposed approach of frame extraction, face detection, and

classification ensures a structured and effective deepfake detection
process.
