Language training is seemingly obvious, desirable component of a pre-departure program.

Following are the aspects from which the necessity become recognized. 1.THE ROLE OF ENGLISH AS THE LANGUAGE OF BUSINESS 2. HOST- COUNTRY LANGUAGE SKILLS AND ADJUSTMENT 3. KNOWLEDGE OF THE CORPORATE LANGUAGE

It is generally accepted that English is the language of world business, although the form of English is more international English than that spoken by native speakers of English.

The ability to speak in a foreign language can improve the expatriate effectiveness and negotiating ability. As Baliga and Baker point out, it can improve managers access to information regarding the host countries economy, govnt and market.

Multinationals tend to adopt a common company language to facilitate reporting and other control mechanisms. Fluency in corporate language is prerequisite for international training assignments and may constrain the ability of subsidiary employees to attend and benefit from such training.

Practical assistance makes an important contribution towards the adaptation of the expatriate and his or her family to their new environment. This is the way by which someone can have an overall idea about the new place Many multinationals now take advantage of relocation specialists to provide this practical assistance.

Expatriates are often used because of a lack of suitably trained staff in the host location. He/she who is expatriate can provide a significant development to the organizations overall performance by this approach.
