The lecture method is an ancient and economical teaching approach focused on cognitive objectives, where the teacher plays a central role and students remain passive. While it can effectively convey information and save time, it lacks interaction and may not cater to individual learning differences, making it less suitable for younger students. Its merits include developing listening skills and encouraging critical thinking, but its demerits highlight its teacher-oriented nature and limited applicability in modern education.
