ABSTRACT

 The system detects vehicle theft by switching to Theft Mode, triggering a

vibration sensor and sending an SMS alert to the owner if unauthorized movement
is detected.
 In Run Mode, the vehicle engine starts only after scanning a valid RFID tag,
with invalid scans triggering a buzzer and an SMS notification to the owner.
 If theft is detected, the user can send an SMS to remotely lock the engine,
preventing theft, with the engine controlled via a DC motor and relay module.
 The system is powered by a 230/12V transformer, a bridge rectifier, and a 7805
voltage regulator, providing stable 5V for the microcontroller and components,
with capacitors filtering the DC supply.
OBJECTIVE

 The main objective of this system is to prevent vehicle

theft by implementing a smart detection and notification
mechanism.
 It uses RFID authentication and a tilt sensor to detect
unauthorized access attempts.
 The system ensures enhanced vehicle security using an
Arduino-based microcontroller, relay module, and LCD
display.

EXISTING METHODS
 Traditional Key and Lock System –
Vehicles are secured using physical keys and
mechanical locks, but these can be easily bypassed.

 Central Locking System –

Uses electronic locking mechanisms controlled
via key fob but still vulnerable to hacking.

 Car Alarms and Immobilizers –

Alerts the owner with an alarm prevents ignition
without proper authentication, but can be disabled.

4. Sensor Sensitivity..... 4. Complex Installation....
PROPOSED METHODS
1. RFID-Based Authentication –
The vehicle engine starts only if a valid RFID tag is
scanned, preventing unauthorized access.
2. GSM-Based SMS Notification –
The system sends an SMS alert to the owner when theft is
detected.
3. GPS Tracking for Vehicle Location –
The vehicle's real-time location is sent to the owner
when the engine is stopped.
4. Tilt Sensor for Theft Detection –
The vibration sensor detects physical tampering or
movement when the vehicle is in theft mode. Upon detection, it
triggers an alert message to the owner with the vehicle's GPS
coordinates.
RFID – RADIO FREQUENCY IDENTIFICATION

1. RFID for Vehicle Access:

The owner scans an RFID tag to start the
engine.
2. Unauthorized Access Alert:
If a wrong RFID tag is used, a buzzer
sounds.
3. Theft Detection & Engine Locking:
If someone tries to start the vehicle
without RFID, a vibration sensor detects
movement.

MODULE DESCRIPTION
1. Microcontroller (Arduino): Acts as the brain of the
system, processing inputs from sensors and controlling
other components.
2. RFID Reader Module: Used for vehicle owner
authentication. If a valid RFID tag is scanned, the engine
starts; otherwise, an alert is triggered.
3. Mode Switch (Theft/Run): This switch allows the user
to toggle between “Theft Mode” and “Run Mode”.
In Run Mode, the vehicle operates normally when a valid
RFID tag is scanned.
In Theft Mode, the vibration sensor activates to detect
unauthorized access.
4. Relay & DC Motor: Relay controls the motor. The
motor is disabled when theft is detected, preventing the
vehicle from moving.
5. Vibration Sensor: Detects unauthorized movement or
theft attempts when the vehicle is in Theft Mode.
6. GSM Modem: Sends SMS alerts to the vehicle owner
in case of unauthorized access. Receives commands from
the owner to lock the engine.
7. LCD & Buzzer Module: LCD displays vehicle status
(e.g., "Engine ON," "Theft Detected").
