provide?
Admissions Team

● Gustavo Davanzo: Admissions Consultant

● Mariano Turzi: Admissions Consultant
The Admissions Process: HOW TO
APPLY
Extremely competitive process to apply to business school. When you
apply you send a school:

● Written Essays (every school has different essay questions)

● School Transcripts
● TOEFL Score
● GMAT Score
● 2 Letters of Recommendation from Professionals
● CV (also known as resume in the USA)
The Admissions Process: WHAT WE
DO
Our job is to get all of these pieces pointing in the same direction to show that
clients:

1. have a high chance of reaching their career goals and being employed after
the MBA
2. are going to contribute to the program as a student and fit well with the
specific values and culture of that program
3. are going to be an excellent member of the alumni community
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER CLIENTS SUBMIT THESE DOCUMENTS?

The Admissions team for that school looks at their application documents.
● If they like them, they schedule an interview with them and the admissions
team. If they don’t, they’re rejected

After the interview, the school will then decide if:

● They’re accepted (potentially with a scholarship).
● They’re rejected
● They’re put on the waitlist (a list of applicants who MAY be offered a spot
later) (purgatory)
When To Apply to MBAs?
Each school has different deadlines to apply, BUT there are typically 3 times of the
year (called rounds) that you can apply to most schools:
● 1st Round - (schools have different deadlines from september - october)
○ This is the best time to apply as there is the most seats available
● 2nd Round - (schools have different deadlines in January)
○ There are fewer seats than round 1, but this is still a good time to apply
● 3rd Round - (schools have different deadlines from March to April)
○ Because they are applying late, many of the seats are now taken, so it
can be much more difficult to be accepted
How does the GMAT influence
Admissions?
● The GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) is a test intended to
assess analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in written
English for use in admission to a graduate management program.
● B-schools do not have an explicit minimum score required, but the score
clients get will influence the programs they pick. For example, Harvard's
median GMAT is 730. IESE’s median GMAT is 670.
● You will be asking for updates on GMAT but their scores won’t be your
responsibility.
● We have a process for clients who are struggling with the GMAT, which is
handled by the internal Admissions Team.

Application Process
We have broken down the whole process into individual steps. Even though some steps will overlap,
breaking things down into simpler, more manageable parts has proven to be a successful way of
keeping all our upcoming work organized.

For each step, we have specific material:

- Instructions will give a general overview of the application step and a short description of the
material.

- Resources are reference material that we have elaborated to learn about that particular step of the
process, why it is important for the whole application process and some advice on how to tackle it.

- Exercises are to put into practice what clients have learned from the resources material, and apply
it to their own application.
