REVIEW
PHOTOSYNTHE
SIS
OBJECTIVE
By the end of this lesson, students should be able to:
Define photosynthesis. S
Understand the importance of photosynthesis for life on
Earth.
Describe the process and the chemical equation of
photosynthesis.
Identify the structures involved in photosynthesis in
plant cells.
Explain the factors that affect the rate of
photosynthesis.
What is
Photosynthesis?
Photosynthesis is the process
by which green plants, algae,
and some bacteria convert
light energy, usually from the
sun, into chemical energy
stored in glucose (a type of
sugar).
What is
PlantsPhotosynthesis?
take in:
🌿Carbon dioxide (CO₂) from the air
🌿Water (H₂O) from the soil
🌿Light energy from the sun
And produce:
🌿Glucose (C₆H₁₂O₆) for energy and
growth
🌿Oxygen (O₂) as a waste product
